[Probably the same thing that possesses someone to wear a sheer mesh shirt or tight pants. So how many times have the ghost hands touched some boob.]
Something like this is a slow grinding down of one's resolution. Some will struggle more with this than others, so I'm glad to hear someone else able to deal with it. [They still need as many hands active as possible to deal with things.] What are your thoughts on better directing our efforts?
I have a certain tolerance...but that doesn't mean I'm free of staying vigilant. It's started to fray even my nerves.
[And it's a little exhausting, the alertness...it simply isn't new. Cantarella squeezes her own shoulder, knuckles whitening.]
Groups are better than pairs, which are still better than remaining alone. The more people spend time together, the harder it will be to let phantom eyes and hands stoke the inferno of suspicion and turn against one another.
Suspicion isn't the only requirement. [They should certainly mitigate hostility, at least.]
Though I was thinking more along the lines of concentrating our investigations on specific areas. Right now our efforts are scattered based on personal interest, but I believe we're getting past the point of all information being equally valuable.
[It makes sense that his logical investment is in managing their explorations, while her logic is being applied to organizing the group. They don't have to be completely disparate, though.]
We may still cast a wider net for now, since the more we uncover, the more it intertwines. However...We should start segmenting our searches. You don't need to tell me that the library is a large and interesting place, but not everyone should go on the same hunt. Regrettably, I think most indicators point to the well at present, but I would not send a single soul there unprepared.

And I agree we'll need to approach the well with a plan. There's only so much exploration without going into it.
[And that'll require either draining the water or some way to breathe down there.]
