[ He can't believe this. Tighnari cannot literally believe what he is hearing right. Does Haitham really believe that is enough for Kaveh to understand?
Kaveh... Who needs it spelled out for him because he is as emotionally stupid as Alhaitham is. ]
[ CLEARLY SPOKEN FROM A DISTANCE: NOT AT HAITHAM ]
Do you see the sheer level of stupidity I am dealing with here, Cyno? You would think that The Scribe would be able to eloquently use words to convey his meanings but no! Here we are because they are both whiny children!
[He genuinely considers just leaving Tighnari on read, but unfortunately Tighnari also knows where he lives. He weighs the pros and cons of it.]
I stand by what I said. It's the most accurate expression of my feelings for Kaveh. I didn't have the chance to elaborate before he rejected it.
The problem between Kaveh and I isn't ignorance, it's denial. Had I phrased it as "I love you" then he would have called me a liar. Had I said it was just because I want to, he would have insisted I always have to have an ulterior motive for what I do.
You know Kaveh well by this point. You should know how much he'll refuse something he doesn't want to deal with.
The fact is, you do have ulterior motive. It's just the ulterior motive is, in fact, attraction. At the end of the day you want to take care of him. You want to take away some of the things that continue to hurt him. It's obvious to us...
But for Kaveh you're right. There's some denial there and with good reason - you know that more than others. So be direct. He questions it, just beat it into his head without the sarcasm and biting commentary.
He'll only think that he's right if you just walk away upset and act like a child put in time out.
[Of course, Tighnari is a child of Sumeru. He sees a problem and he applies himself to fix it. He can afford to be measured, his bias only in resolving things. Alhaitham knows better than to assume he'd just take Kaveh's side, simple as that would be.]
One week, if he doesn't come find me first.
[One week to finish his test. He'll promise nothing about what he'll say, but in one week he'll resolve this.]

[ If it's anything short of "i love you and i want you to stick around" then kaveh probably would have rejected it. ]

It was the most direct explanation of my motivations. Kaveh turned it into a deflection, because he couldn't accept I was being honest.
