Alhaitham pushes the door open some minutes after Don has already started perusing the stones, looking over the shop for a sight of blonde hair.

Mine only gripe is there nowhere to sit, but I could not help my curiosity. I digress -- we are here not for the wonders which lie within this shop, but for conversation. I shall give thee a short report, and answer any further questions thou may have.

I do not recall whom struck me down, though that is easy enough to learn due to my request, nor do I remember most of the fight prior -- owning, I think, to the swiftness of it. I have had no issues in speaking nor of seeing others' faces as I had thought I would, though I do not know if I have forgotten anything, for it is hard to think about what I may have in the first place; if I have, it will surface... or rather, not surface in time, and I shall duly speak to thee then as well. There is no scarring which I did not have prior to that day, and I feel right as rain otherwise.

[Alhaitham nods in response. It sure is him.

He folds his arms as he listens, expression immobile except for the steady climb of his brow at a realization.] I understand it was all recorded with the help of witnesses. The haven't reached out to you?

[Please... well, he'll just have to hunt down the other guy and do the comparison himself. They're already here, so they might as well discuss what they do know.]

Based on what you do remember, are you sure you die in a way that there would have been scarring?

I have not sought it out, in truth. It seems an odd thing, to see one's death in motion.

From what I do recall when we had met, Ser Wufei wielded a self-made staff, so it would have left little more than bruising if anything at all -- save for whatever the killing blow had been. Given it was quick, paired with mine experience in battle, it was most likely to the head.

[That's likely, though it will take their recordings to prove it. Were there any wound on her head, it'd be hidden in her hair.]

When you say you haven't sought it out, you mean the details of the murder or the side of the killer and witnesses at all?

Ser Wufei will be unable to speak clearly about it, given I do not suffer that consequence.

[ a detail only brought up momentarily by kromer, but more confidently by don in her initial challenge and also now. ]

I plan to seek his words once they are settled, for it will be most disconcerting to try and speak and find they will not come so easily -- thou art welcome to try, and to confirm it for thyself, but I do not know if he will welcome guests 'til he hath bettered. As for the witnesses, I have been told that they witness it in their nightmares as if it were their own, though I did not seek the information myself. I had not thought there would be consequences for their... "inaction", [ as the city might consider it, ] but it would seem there were.

[ so really, she hasn't sought either. but she does seem fairly certain of the information she's got. ]

What I am curious of with Ser Wufei is if he recalls the blow he dealt, or if that is absent from memory. That would be mine inquiry to he.

Oh. [His tone is flat.] You really haven't looked at the results at all.

[He was planning to follow up for the written report anyway if he took too long to be notified, so he supposes this isn't a huge disruption. Still a hassle.]

Indeed I have! I am well satisfied with what I have learned, though it is of import to no one but myself.

[It's personal. Something she needed to evidence to herself, he suspects, and all the other details around the consequences of murder are simply a collateral benefit to everyone else around here.]

No need, as long as I can get the details from Wufei later. [He seemed to be taking that part seriously at least.] Hm, but you should talk to Kaveh if you haven't already.

He came to greet me once I had awoken on the train, actually! It was most kind of him to do so -- and to bring such a bounty of gifts as well. Ser Alhaitham, has he always been such a sweet boy?

[Oh, good. Alhaitham knew Kaveh would go looking for her, saves a lot of trouble that he successfully caught her at the station.

He inclines his head in a nod.] Kaveh has always been sensitive to everything around him, especially people. It often gets him in trouble.

["Sweet" is putting it more tenderly than Alhaitham would phrase it, but Kaveh's kind heart is undeniable.]

To be soft of heart is not a bad thing.

In fact, he reminds me muchly of my friend and roommate -- they both have a kindness to them, but it isn't one that diminishes their resolution. What sort of trouble has he gotten himself into? I should like to know more about him, as well as thyself.

[Alhaitham hums, the only sign of agreement he'll make on the matter. True, being kind itself is not the problem, nor is his empathy. Kaveh's problems as an idealist were always his war with himself, and not with the world around him.

He doesn't know either Don's friend or roommate, but the description hits close enough to Kaveh that he believes her. He also believes, with how impassionate Kaveh was in his furious inability to save her, that he bared more of himself than he meant to.]

If we're stuck here long enough, you'll see what I mean. [Because Kaveh is incapable of minding his business.] He often holds other people as more important and then overexerts himself to accommodate them.
